These Thomas Wolfe book jackets were illustrated by Jim Hill. Harry was the designer, working as Art Director at Dell Books at the time. A characteristic touch is his design of the letter forms, which were often copied in the late fifties and early sixties. Lettering design is a subtle, advanced form of graphic design, and much of Harry's work is in designing letter forms for books, posters, fliers, cards and the like.
